The rice hull pot was launched in 2007, but the brand Pioneera was introduced in 2021. Since then, the demand for the pots has been steadily growing for the past few years due to their numerous benefits and eco-friendly nature, explains Pioneera's Max Chen.
"Rice hull pots offer several advantages to growers. They are lightweight, biodegradable, and promote healthy root growth. They provide excellent drainage and aeration, reducing the risk of root rot and improving overall plant health. Additionally, they are sustainable and environmentally friendly."
"The rice hull pots are made from the outer shells of rice grains, which are typically discarded as waste during the milling process. By using this natural material, we are able to create a durable and biodegradable pot that is perfect for growing plants and herbs," says Max Chen from Pioneera.
The rice hull pots can be used in automation systems, and their lightweight nature makes them suitable for automated processes in nurseries and large-scale cultivation operations. The pots are suitable for a wide range of plants, including but not limited to ornamental plants, herbs, vegetables, and small fruit-bearing plants. They provide a healthy growing environment for various plant species.
Pioneera currently supplies the pots to a number of countries worldwide, with their distribution network covering the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and they come in a variety of natural colors, reflecting the organic nature of the material. However, specific color variations are available upon request.
"We are also continuously working on improving the design and functionality of our rice hull pots. Our commitment to sustainability and innovation drives us to provide the best possible solutions to growers worldwide," Max concludes.
